Hello To All!
My name is
Dianna James. I am fairly new to the Dallas area, having
moved here last summer. However, I was born and raised
in Southeast Texas. After graduating high school, I
attended the University of Texas in Austin, where I
received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology. I
spent most of my years thereafter in Austin. During that
time, I worked in Social Work (Family and Child Welfare)
for about 16 years before changing careers to teaching.
This year
I will be teaching 4th grade Science. I am really
excited about this school year. I feel very strongly
that education is extremely important in the lives of
our youth. I feel equally as strong that learning should
be fun, especially at the elementary level.
Over the
years, I have worked with children in various
capacities, including through my work in Child Welfare
and having worked in a pre-school program during my
college years. Additionally, I am a mother of a 16 year
old son and an aunt and great aunt to numerous girls and
boys of all ages. Needless to say, the combination of
aunthood and motherhood has definitely taught me a lot
about kids!
With all
said, I am truly looking forward to working with all the
4th graders at Northwood Hills and doing my part to help
them have a successful school year!
