Hi my name is Julie Yang and I am the new Speech Therapist here at Northwood Hills Elementary.  This is my first year here at RISD and I already envision myself working here for as long as I could.  I especially like Northwood Hills because it is such a friendly, supportive, and family-like community.  I look forward to working with all of you and your children! :-)

I was born and raised in Taiwan and then immigrated to southern California when I was 14 years old.  I had to learn English from the beginning and it was a tough journey.  It was when I became interested in helping others to acquire a language.  I received my BA from University of California , Berkeley , and Masters from California State University , Los Angeles .

We have recently moved from California to Dallas a few months ago.  Before we moved to Dallas , Texas , I was already a speech therapist for about 10 years.  I really enjoy being a speech therapist because I love to help students with speech/language delays/disorders to grow and succeed.  Although it was hard to leave my students and co-workers behind, I am excited to be here!

I have a supportive husband, Jason, and a funny, sweet, little 3 year-old son, Ethan.  We haven’t been here long but we already fell in love with Dallas .  It is meant for us to be cowboys and cowgirl! :-)
