Kelly Morton

2nd Grade

This is my second year of teaching, and I am so excited to be back at Northwood Hills! I grew up in RISD; attending Bowie , Westwood, and Pearce High School . I spent a year at the University of Oklahoma before transferring and graduating from Texas A&M University . (Needless to say, burnt orange is my least favorite color!) I earned my bachelors degree in elementary education, and I plan to start working towards my masters next year.

Away from school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am also a counselor with the youth group at Arapaho United Methodist church, so I spend Sunday evenings with the junior high and high schoolers, as well as going on special retreats and Mission trips. A few of my favorite things include college football, skiing, music, shopping, and baking.

Math and Science are such interesting subjects and include concepts that are incredibly important to student’s success in school and life after school. My goal is to try and make them favorites of my students now. I am lucky to be teaching in such a wonderful school, and I am so thankful to be able to be a part of the forth grade team this year!
