I love this place!  I have just started at Northwood Hills after 5 years of teaching 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grade English to second language learners.  I am overwhelmed at the eagerness of my students, the support from the parents, and the great school climate at Northwood Hills.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997 and immediately served in the Peace Corps in the country of Tonga.  Those two years showed me that I loved teaching in the classroom. After a brief time at a local non-profit, I finally followed in my mother and grandmother’s footsteps and began to teach.  I believe that this has got to be the best job around!  I love giving kids tangible skills and knowledge that they will use for the rest of their lives.

I also just finished a Masters in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Commerce in August of 2007, so I know I will be in education for a long time!

Here at Northwood Hills, I get to read, write, and learn about Texas with my 4^th grade students.   In addition to academics, 4^th graders are getting organized and ready for their upper grades with AVID Elementary.  Just ask any 4^th grader to see his or her AVID binder—hopefully you will be impressed!

I am honored to work at this school, and I look forward to working with everyone in the Northwood Hills community this year!
