Susan Johnson

3rd Grade

I can't believe I am beginning my twenty-eighth year of teaching!  Fifteen of those years have been in RISD but I've also taught in Abernathy, Idalou, and Van, Texas.

I was born in Tennessee, and grew up in Virginia.  When I was sixteen my family moved to Richardson, and I graduated from Richardson High School.  I then attended Texas Tech and received a degree in Home Economics Education with an endorsement in Elementary Education.  Before coming to NHE, I taught for eight years at Arapaho, mostly in third grade.

I have one daughter who lives in Plano, and she has blessed me with two grandsons.  My father and sister also live in Plano, and I spend much time with them.  When I'm not babysitting my grandsons I love to read novels and surf on the Internet.

I had a great first year at NHE.  The students, teachers and parents here are awesome!  I'm looking forward to more great years at this super school.
