I am proud
to announce that we have been awarded 3 Gold Performance
Awards from the Texas Education Agency for 2007. NHE won
awards for Commended performance in the areas of Math,
Writing and Science. Congratulations to our students and
teachers on so much hard work! |

5th graders
had a wonderful 3 days at Sky Ranch science camp last
week! Thank you to our terrific 5th grade parents who went along
as chaperones: Jill Hamilton (A.J.’s and Ashley’s mom), Steve
Baxter (Andrew and Brennan’s dad), Stacy Birkhold (Emma’s
mom),Juanita Gibson (Belisha and Jonathan’s mom), Donna White (Nevin
and Sarah’s mom), Chris Rodgers (Davis, Gray and Bo’s dad), Rhory Mendoza (Thomas’s dad) and Alfredo Cervantes (Jaime and
Juilan’s dad). Thanks also to our devoted 5th grade
teachers, Ms. Pailes and Ms. Young, for giving up 3 days
with their own families so that our 5th graders could go. If
teachers and parents couldn’t go, students couldn’t either. |

Thank
you to Vicki Arrington (Drew and Tyler’s mom) for
gift certificates for staff drawings from Potbelly’s. Thanks
also to an anonymous friend for the gift certificates to
Target. |

fun carnival recently and appreciate so much all of the moms and
dads that worked with Jill Hance (Ryan’s mom).
