We love
it when parents come and have lunch with their children
at school! When you join your child for lunch, he/she is
welcome to invite one friend to join the two of you at the
middle table. This avoids overcrowding at the classroom
table. |

RISD's
policy is that a parent has 3 days after their child is
absent to send an excuse. NHE has been lenient in the past
with a 5 day window, but we are going to have to adhere to the
district's policy and make it 3 days. If you send the note after
3 days Ms. Scott can take it but it will not change an unexcused
absence to an excused one. If your child is out sick for 4 or
more days they need a doctor's excuse note for their absence. |

"What
Can I Do?" - Environmental Awareness Contest
The Texas PTA invites all students to join the 2007-2008
Environmental Awareness Contest. The theme for this year is
"What Can I Do?" Students can submit an idea involving
the contest theme by writing a newspaper article, designing a
newsletter, drawing media art or print advertisement, creating a
photograph, or producing a 30 second public service announcement
in audio (PSA announcement - 6th grade only). Entries are due by

We need some
helpers to help shelve library books! This is a great way to
help your school and you are welcome and needed for as long and
as often as you can come! Some parents come for a while before
school lets out in the afternoon. Please consider this volunteer
opportunity! |
